We have been sad to say farewell to Rev Duncan Stenhouse, locum minister, who has served the Parish so well.
Thank you to everyone who made a donation to his leaving presentation. The amount given from folks at Abernethy and Glenfarg was over £700. We are delighted at the arrival of our new minister, Rev. Moira Herkes who was formally welcomed at a packed united service at Glenfarg on 21 st January. Thanks to all who contributed in any way to the success of the evening at either the church or village hall.
· Sunday worship is at 9.30 am with Sunday club for children during the service
· 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month from 10.30am – 12.00; “Open doors” come and join in for a cuppa and a blether. All will be welcomed
· March, 9th at 9.30 am ; Communion service at Abernethy
· March 23rd no church service at Abernethy. Instead, Annual stated meeting at Arngask Church, Glenfarg, 10.30 am
· May 10th, 10am - 12 noon, Church coffee morning and sale, Williamson Hall
· Perth and Kinross foodbank; donations of UHT / powdered milk, sugar, cartons of juice, tinned food, coffee, tea etc are required for the food bank in St Catherines Rd, Perth. Please no perishables. Opening hours are MonFri 2-4pm. A box for donations is in the church vestibule.

Morning worship takes place at the Kirk of St Bride, Abernethy every Sunday at 9.30 am except for the last Sunday of the month. During school term time Children’s Sunday club continues. Please bring yourself and the children along!
New Joint service information
As a trial, on the last Sunday of each month and until the end of this year, we have been having a joint service at 10.30 am, alternating the location between the church in Abernethy and Glenfarg. Children's Sunday club will continue during each service within school term time. Drinks and refreshments will be served after each service. You will be very welcome to join us at either church.

Guild
The first meeting of the Lower Earn Churches Together (LECT) Guild was held in Dunning Church in June and over the last few months. It is hoped it will continue from April to September next year and is open to men and women.
Roof repairs
Church roof repairs will start around 11th of August and may last around 4 weeks depending on the weather.
Fair City Singers
On Friday 19th Sept at 7.30pm in the church at Glenfarg this local young people’s choir will be singing for us. Tickets will be £5 and refreshments will be served afterwards. See village notices nearer the time.
Shoebox appeal
Once again Abernethy, Dron and Arngask Church is supporting the Shoe box appeal. Please bring items for the Shoeboxes or filled boxes to church by 2nd November ;
Toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, hair brush, sewing kit, candles are some of the items required. Scarves, hats, gloves, pencils, pens, paper all appreciated. Collect leaflet at Church for more information or contact Kathleen 01337840218.
The Perth Blythswood Support Group 2014 shoebox Appeal Coffee Morning is on Saturday 4th October in the North Church Hall Perth 10 to 11 45am.
Volunteers also required to help at Custom Checking day at North Church Hall Perth Saturday 8th November.

Christmas Eve Service will be at 7pm in Abernethy with a later service in Glenfarg at 11.30pm.
The morning service will be at 11am in Abernethy this year (note the change of time) However on the last Sunday of each month, we hope to meet together with the Glenfarg part of our congregation at 11 am. Fair City Singers We had a memorable and inspiring evening in September with this lovely group of girls and their conductor. Thanks to all who came and enjoyed as well as those who performed to such a high standard! If you have an opportunity to hear them again, don’t miss it!

Village Welcome packs Members of the church have recently delivered ‘Welcome Bags’ to the 12 new houses in Provost Mains, part of the Stephen Homes . The pack contains useful village information, telephone numbers, activities in Abernethy, a bus timetable, a ‘ Village Crier’ and a packet of Abernethy biscuits. Remaining ‘Welcome packs’, minus the biscuits, can be picked up in the church vestibules, if you want to welcome someone new moving in to your street.
