We set out from Abernethy at 11am in a lovely comfortable bus and nice music to listen to, passing through all the lovely rural routes. The sun was shining and as we passed by Alva Glen and the sun shone on the hills which were aglow. Stopping at Dobbies garden World for a comfort stop for a wee while, I enjoyed just browsing and seeing the beautiful water features and the plants and also small animals were even for sale. Not usually having the time to browse I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Then it was on the bus and off to Troon. The weather was not very kind to us but I did manage to walk along the promenade and saw some ducks and ducklings, and a few people walking their dogs. I had a scarf on and an umbrella so the weather did not bother me. I even had my ice cream. Just a leisurely stroll was really relaxing and enjoyable.
Getting on the bus at 4p.m. and going to The Fenwick Hotel for high tea, this was absolutely wonderful. The minute I entered there was a lovely atmosphere. The dining room was well set out with large round tables which had lots of room for each person. The service was very good, and tea and coffee were quickly refilled when requested. The meal was excellent and the large scones which were just out of the oven were delicious, and even cakes to follow. The hotel staff were so friendly and all in all a place to recommend to anyone.
The trip home was very pleasant and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves. I shall remember this day and would like to thank everyone who organized and the care we all had, also the sweets and the jokes on the bus.
Thank you again for a wonderful time
