ABERNETHY CORE PATHS PROJECT

Abernethy Core Path Maintenance 17th June 10am

Clearing Bramble, nettle and similar undergrowth over the length of the Rough Glen, using hand tools only. The work will be conducted with hand tools under the auspices of Community Greenspace Volunteers Perth & Kinross Council. The work will be supervised by Greenspace Ranger, Susan Whyte and volunteers will be covered by Perth & Kinross Council insurance. The council prefer to supply all tools, gloves and other personal protection equipment and also tea and coffee and on this occasion Susan’s home made cake. Volunteers can work at their own pace and take breaks at their discretion, so bring your own piece and flask, if you wish.  Susan has identified additional work on adjacent Den paths if sufficient support turns up. We hope this will prove to be a fun and social meeting as well as providing much needed improvement to the Rough Glen Path.

Volunteers may wish to walk to the meeting point at the end of the path or may park at the kind invitation of Peter Glennie, Ballo House. Further parking at Midfield (Duncan Kennedy) with right of way access to the Rough Glen. Direction signs will be in place. Work will not continue beyond 3 pm.

Further informtion fron Duncan Kennedy 07968 890070 email d.a.kennedy1.com or Alistair Robinson 07736524546 email awr22@btinternet.com
Volunteers are requested to contact either of the above prior to 17th June.

Depending on the success of this initial project a further day’s work will be organised under the auspices of P&KC and thereafter work can be undertaken under the control of a Community Greenspace Volunteer group controlled and organised by local volunteers.
