On the last Sunday of the month the Cree’s Inn hosts an informal session of folk music led by Kate and Roddy. October found a varied group of people enjoying first class music
The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming but there are some professional standard musicians singing and playing all kinds of folk.
I started counting instruments. These included guitars, of course, banjos, mandolins, an accordion, flute, Border bagpipes, and a mouth organ. The music varied between Country and Western, blues, toe-tapping jigs and traditional Scots songs.
This real treat happens on the last Sunday of every month and all for the price of a drink. There is no other charge except to enjoy a taste of whatever takes your fancy from Brian’s great selection behind the bar.
