The Village Crier is a non-profit making newsletter serving the people of Abernethy and Aberargie and surrounding area, published by a committee of unpaid volunteers who collect, edit and present for publication submissions received from residents of, former residents of, or people with an interest in, the area. The Village Crier is published quarterly and delivered free to all residences in the area by unpaid volunteers. It is financed by advertising.
The Village Crier intends to publish;
information about the local organisations in the area,
Contact names, phone numbers, email addresses if available
Aims (if not obvious)
When, where and how often meetings take place
information about local services in the area,
when and where the service is available
information about the area
articles submitted by residents of, former residents of , people with an interest in, the area and considered by the editorial committee to be suitable for publishing in the Village Crier
reports of proceedings, meetings or happenings of organisations or events in the area submitted by representatives of the appropriate organisation
proceedings of the Community Council
updates on matters of interest to the residents and/or matters raised by the residents from the local councillors
The Village Crier can only publish material submitted to it and relies on input from its readers to continue to publish quarterly.
The Village Crier is financed by revenue from advertisements and is indebted to all those local services buying advertising space in the publication.
