HAYLEY WINS PRIZE FOR ABERNETHY PRIMARY SCHOOL

As part of the Perth Heraldry 800 celebrations, primary pupils in Perthshire were invited to enter a competition to design a coat of arms , demonstrating what is important about their community, its history, and culture.  Hayley entered as a pupil from Abernethy Primary School.

11 year old Hayley Cole, who lives at 1 Den Park Abernethy and is a primary 7 pupil ,  won her category.  Her design, which depicted the round tower with the St Andrews cross along with a berry, a fish, and an acorn, had a mosaic backing and was finished with a dark green background.

Hayley was invited to attend a presentation, with other category prize winners at the A.K.Bell library in Perth, on Fri 27th November 2010.  Provost John Hulbert  presented her with an enlarged copy of her design for Abernethy primary school and a framed copy for herself.
