Following Hilda’s comments in the last Crier, I wanted to provide an update on the hall management committee. The good news is we still have one! February’s AGM brought three new committee members and, following a bit of a reshuffle, I found myself ‘volunteering’ to take the chair. Another notable change was that, after more years than she could remember (or wanted to admit to?), Evelyn Scobie has stepped down from running the 100 Club. Thank you Evelyn for all the hard work you have put in over the years to make this a continued success.
Having averted the threat of closure, the new committee wants to make the hall the best it can be. As well as all the local groups that use it on a regular basis, it’s a great venue for parties, ceilidhs, quiz nights and fund-raisers and has a capacity of 100 people.
We also have a new Facebook page (Williamson Hall, Abernethy) and our web-site will be up and running soon. Please ‘like’ us to keep up to date with what’s going on in the hall and feel free to add any relevant comments. To book the hall, please call Andrea Dewar on 850960.
Finally, don’t forget our annual fete on 15th June. By the time you read this, that’ll probably be just a few days away. Look out for more details in this Crier, on posters around the village or on Facebook and please keep your fingers crossed for good weather!
