A TRIBUTE TO MAY DACK

Being the last member of the Clow Family connected to the Factory, I feel it a privilege to write a few words in memory of May Dack (nee Beatson).

May was the last of the generation working in the Factory when it was still under the charge of its founder John Clow. the father of my late husband, Bobby. John Clow died in 1959 and Bobby took over.

May was highly thought of by everyone connected with the Factory, her fellow workers and all the members of the Clow family. All the embroidery on garments was done by May and some of her work can be seen in the Museum. The ravages of time passed by May; she looked very much the same from the days of her youth until the end, always happy, smiling and cheerful.

A lovely person who will be very much missed by all who knew her.
