SEPTEMBER 2011

As outgoing Chairperson of Abernethy Playgroup, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody for their support over the past year. The committee, for working so tirelessly to ensure the Playgroup can continue to run, the parents for their continued support and of course to our wonderful staff, Ang, Babs and Mo for their continued dedication and the great care they take of our children.

It hasn’t been an easy year, as numbers have been down and, certainly as the new committee took over last May our financial situation was extremely worrying to say the least. However, after a number of very successful fundraising events which included our Ready Steady Cook Evening, Family Hallowe’en Disco, Ladies Pamper Night and Sponsored Ben Nevis Climb (photo below), we have raised nearly £2,000. I would just like to say a massive thank you to all the parents and members of the public who supported each of these events and ensured that we have been able to hand over a far more promising financial outlook to the new committee. I would also like to extend a special thank you to the Abernethy Community Council, whose generous contribution to our fund, has ensured that the children were able to have a Summer Trip this year. We took them to the new and improved Noah’s in Perth where they had a morning of play, followed by lunch, before being brought back to the village in time for the children to make it to afternoon nursery.

The committee details for the year 2011/2012 are as follows:
