Another successful Craft Fair was held on Saturday 24th October, raising a sum of nearly £1000 for the Museum. The stalls were interesting, demonstrating a wide variety of talent in different fields. An ideal way to start one's Christmas Shopping.
Morning coffees, lunches (with the ever-interesting varieties of home-made soups) and afternoon teas were in demand as usual
Many thanks to everyone involved, The stallholders, the backroom crew, the food-providers and of course those who came along on the day.
By the time this edition of the Village Crier is out many of you will have enjoyed once again an evening with the Red Wine Company------- always great entertainment. A full report on this will appear in March.
Finally The Volunteers' Evening will take place on Friday 11th December; Please note the date. A good fun night for all who help to keep the show on the road.

The annual Craft Fair in aid of Museum funds, took place on Saturday 23rd October. Unfortunately the turn-out from Abernethy was very poor and we must think hard before organising another one. A great deal of work is involved in this event which is the main fund-raiser for the Museum and it is disappointing not to have local support and also embarrassing to have invited craftworkers to come along, many whom have supported us over the last eleven years and travelled a considerable distance
Our takings were down this year to just under £700.
If anyone has any ideas on how to stimulate enthusiasm, I would be delighted to hear from you.
Abernethy is very fortunate in having a Museum which is highly thought of by an increasing number of people and organisations. Admission is free and the Museum is run and staffed by volunteers but money is always needed for basic running costs.
