MUSEUM OF ABERNETHY

It’s been a strange old year in the life of the Museum. Even during world wars things at home probably carried on to some extent as normal. These are definitely not normal times and the hard work in preparation to open in May, although not wasted, was unable to be appreciated by the visiting public.

There have been some personnel changes since last year. Lesley Robinson has retired as Chairperson of the Board as she is moving from Abernethy to Yorkshire to be closer to family. Lesley has done a power of work for the Museum during her time in the chair and will be a very hard act to follow. She will be sadly missed. The Chairperson position will be filled by myself. Another change is the Treasurer; this position will be filled by Doug Cleeton. Doug will bring with him experience in computing, websites and finance. We have a good team on the Board consisting of Irene McLaren, Pat Miller, Angus MacIntyre and Christina Cleeton.

We are very much hoping the Museum will reopen in May 2021 with some new exhibits. We are always looking for new members and volunteers to help with the smooth running of this great village facility. Please feel free to approach any of the Board members if you would like to get involved, don’t be frightened to ask.
